Shocker!

Chateau LaRonde on Friday afternoon

Well a week has passed and we are not in the new house yet. Apparently “we” are not quite finished with some critical items. I know this will shock everyone as much as it shocked me. We were supposed to close yesterday afternoon, but after our visit on Wednesday of this past week, it was clear to Susan and I that the house wasn’t going to make it. As expected, we rescheduled closing (twice) and now the big move in day is February 8th (a Tuesday).

This means that because of Kayla’s visitation schedule with me, she narrowly avoids having to help us move.

Things are shaping up.

Of course, as things get closer to close, we are loving the house more and more. The laminate flooring has gone in and we’re both extremely pleased with it. As you can see in this picture, it has a nice “darkish” appearance and it goes nicely with most of the stuff we’ve got in right now.

It was only by chance that we got these floors in the first place. We had originally picked out a design from a manufacturer in June. When it came time to put the floors in, the company had discontinued our design. They called us in to pick out a new pattern and we settled on this one. We suspect it was more expensive than our original choice, but we weren’t charged because of the mix-up.

It’s one thing that has gone right with this build.

We plan to go visit tomorrow and I hope to take some more pictures.
