Erik has teeth!

February 18th, 2005 by Mike · No Comments

Why is dad holding my lower lip down?

That’s right: “teeth” - plural! Among all of the other activity this weekend, we noticed that Erik has cut not one, but two teeth. Given his behavior for the past 2 weeks or so, it makes some sense. He was cranky and only slept in 2 hour chunks of time. We know now that he was hard at work on his new chompers. He’s already learning how to bite! I’m so proud.

The new house is wonderful. However, the move has been quite challenging. In an effort to help us evolve faster, I would like to pass along some of my lessons learned from this move:

  • Poor planning will wear you out
  • Furniture you assembled once upon a time will never return to it’s former grandeur when you break it down and reassemble it
  • Carry a tape measure with you always
  • As soon as you know you’re going to move, start selling/goodwilling/trashing most of your stuff lying around
  • Small children will take all of your time and you will be useless for moving
  • If you don’t like clutter, look at moving as a growing experience
  • Never assume the builder is telling you everything - use your common sense

The office is nearly done. The computers are up and the makeshift entertainment center is up too. I’ll send a picture when I get some of the boxes cleared.

According to the forecast, it should be a cold and rainy weekend. Maybe I’ll get more pictures.
