Yes, we drag the kids out to the fire ant infested bluebonnet patch every year
If you’ve read this space at all, you know that it is an unspoken rule that if you live in Texas, you need to take pictures of your kids when the bluebonnets bloom. We fulfilled our duty to the great state of Texas and took a few pictures of our kiddos posing in the flowers today. Surprisingly, it didn’t take very long.

I was just pleased she had good posture

Emma is used to this by now - She was in a good mood today

This picture was taken before Erik tried to eat the state flower of Texas

OK, I couldn’t resist - it was a beautiful day
Family News:
- Susan is sick. She gradually developed an extremely sore throat and sinus drainage towards the end of last week. This weekend, she could hardly speak at all. I tried to refrain from joking about the silence, but I’m weak.
- Kayla went on a field trip to Fiesta Texas in San Antonio for a band competition. So…what’s more important in the 12 year old mind? Winning best in class or riding the Superman Roller Coaster twice? I think you know the answer.
- Erik looks to be cutting a third tooth on the upper gum. That would explain a few things, but we’re happy it’s coming. It’ll make chewing his steak much easier.
- Just so we’re clear…Daylight Savings Time is pure evil.
