Kayla gets all A’s

I was shocked, shocked to find out that my older daughter Kayla got all A’s on her report card this past 6 weeks. Well, maybe not so shocked…she is a smart one. She even got an A in math (something that’s been pretty tough to do last year). Will this continue? I don’t know.

Susan gets a new job

The employer of record stays the same (the University of Texas) but the department changes. Susan started work for the College of Communication a couple of weeks ago. She got both of her degrees from the College of Communication way back in…nevermind.

New neighbors

The lot next door to our house finally sold. We were a little bit bummed about it. It was nice having a mini-greenbelt next to our place (and we didn’t have to buy blinds or curtains for our dining room yet). Susan was fortunate enough to meet the new neighbors yesterday and according to Susan, they seem like great folks. They’ll scrape the lot soon.

Mike in Orlando

I’m at a great higher education conference where I’m learning more about what our University could be doing differently and it’s pretty rewarding. Luckily, I’m due back in Austin tomorrow and I will (hopefully) not be delayed by Wilma. According to the people who know, Wilma will hit well south of here.
