Happy Turkey Day…and Happy Birthday Dad

November 24th, 2005 by Mike · No Comments

Makes you full just looking at it…

Today is the day where we eat a lot of food and lose all sense of self control…my dad’s birthday. Oh, and it’s Thanksgiving. Yes, I could have made the joke that it’s turkey day and Thanksgiving, but that wouldn’t be very respectful to my dad, would it?

Today we made the long trek (.8 miles) to mom and dad’s. We met up with Susan’s parents and the Palmers and had one doozy of a dinner. I won’t go through the entire menu, but we had turkey, dressing, ham and several casseroles.

Dad also turned a year older today. Mom made mandarin orange cake for him, but everyone was so stuffed from lunch, we didn’t eat much (dad had a sliver).

This is something you would expect to see on the 4th of July…not Thanksgiving!

The two youngest kids (Emma and Erik) decided to play outside with the water hose. What? But it’s Thanksgiving! It must be freezing outside. What kind of parent would allow their children to do this?

Well, it was a not-so-chilly 80 degrees and sunny today. No snow plows here.

I hope you’re having a good time today…where ever you are. Catch you later.
