I swear that Lance and Richard ate here, but I didn’t think to get the camera out…DRAT
We had the honor of having Susan’s Uncle Lance and Cousin-in-law Richard (her cousin’s husband) down from North Carolina tonight. I guess that makes them my Uncle-in-law and Cousin-in-law-in-law? At any rate, they came down to visit with Susan’s parents before they went on to Phoenix.
Last night, we had Tex-Mex at La Margarita (Uncle Lance loves Tex-Mex) and tonight we just hung out at our place. You might remember Richard from Susanne’s blog. I actually got to meet the Richard tonight. He was great. He knew a ton about golf and golf equipment.
We had a great time.
We had a lot of time to get the house ready because we got to stay home today!
Ice day! Woo-hoo!!
I’m guessing Mother Nature was responding to my complaints about the weather because we got hit with a doozy of a cold front. It was rainy and in the 20s during the day yesterday and the University sent everyone home early. This morning, they made the decision to let everyone stay home because there was a bit of ice on the road.
“A bit of ice” shouldn’t be a reason to close schools and businesses in most places, but this is central Texas. We can brave 100 degree days for weeks at a time, but we simply cannot drive safely on icy roads.
I admit it…I embrace it.
There were a lot of accidents with reduced traffic this morning. My fellow central Texans seem to think driving on ice is the same as driving in sunny weather. As a matter of fact, it is always entertaining to watch the car accidents that the local news crews catch on video. It’s probably common knowledge with journalists in Austin on the best places to set up their camera to catch the best wrecks during icy weather. They know where to go.
Drive today? No thank you.
We stayed in and had what my good friend always called a “Price is Right” day.
