She’s loving the cake!

Five years ago today last night, Susan told me she was feeling contractions. Even though she was very pregnant, she was still going to work every day. On this morning, she asked if she should go in or stay home. Being the sensitive, loving husband that I am, I told her to go into work…she’ll be closer to the hospital that way.

Some 16 hours (and an unplanned c-section) later, we had this little girl.

She went to the doctor today to get her birthday shot (it sounds better that way), and to get weighed and measured. Here are her stats:

Weight: 48 3/4 pounds - 90th percentile (solid!)
Height: 43 3/4 inches - 75th percentile (tall!)

We had a birthday party at my parents place this last Saturday AND a class birthday party with her classmates at Zilker park on Sunday. I’ll post those pictures later.

Update: A very well informed anonymous commenter pointed out that the contractions started on the 27th. I guess it was so traumatic for me, that I blanked it out.
