On Saturday morning, we were all set to have a lazy day at home and watch the Longhorn game. It’s been such a busy week, that I didn’t even know what time the game started. Erik and Emma were already prepared. They were asking me for chicken wings…right about breakfast time. So, we planned to watch the game and eat wings whenever the game came on.
Well, Jimmy and Elaine called wanting to go to a movie last night and Susan and I were really excited. It’s not often that we get to go to the movies and watch a movie with anything other than a “G” rating. The movie plans morphed into watching football at our place.
Through all of the prep for guests, the chicken wing plans got scrapped.
We had a great time with Jimmy and Elaine (and fam) watching the game and I stayed up way too late in anticipation of a glorious extra hour of sleep that comes with “falling back” and daylight savings time.
The kids internal clocks didn’t make the switch, so Susan and I played tag-team napping this morning.
Strangely enough, E & E didn’t forget about the wings. As you can see from the picture, they’re quite satisfied with lunch today.
I love chicken wings…and now my kids love them too.
Site News:
I’ve recently added a few things to the “About” tab. I’ve added December 2005 from the old blog with more to come soon. I’m also hoping to add a few things to the “Guentzel History” tab in the near future.
