We don’t watch a ton of TV in our house. The TV we do watch can be put into a few categories:
- Disney Channel (a big chunk)
- Sports
- A few scattered non-fiction shows on the History Channel, the Discovery Channel and the Learning Channel (TLC)
- The Food Network
While my favorite show on the Food Network is Alton Brown’s Good Eats, I also love Paula Deen’s show. She loves to cook and she’s not artificially flashy about it. She apparently is a genuine rags-to-riches story.
So it warms my heart when I read this blurb from the New York Post:
Andre Agassi called Deen personally to request a personal cooking lesson to auction at the Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation auction and Deen, best known for using bars of butter in all her recipes including Krispy Creme casserole, obliged. Last week, the lesson went for a whopping $210,000.
