Happy Birthday Dad

November 24th, 2006 by Mike · No Comments

Birthday Party
Today is my dad’s birthday. I won’t say how old, but in my eyes he’s magically stayed the same age.

Even though my dad isn’t the Ward Cleaver stereotype, he did teach me a few things.

Things I learned from my dad:

  • Elgin Hot Guts and Sun Crest Orange are nature’s perfect food
  • How to waterski with one ski
  • With a little determination and patience, you can fix almost anything (and he can)
  • Hair loss is nothing to get all that worried about (I’m still trying to learn that one)
  • Be nice to people…you’ll be surprised how far that goes
  • How to drive a 1969 Ford Pickup (with manual transmission and manual steering)
  • The best hamburgers in the world were at Diamond Inn in Taylor
  • Laughing is good for you
  • Being “a man” means always taking care of your family

Happy birthday, dad. Thanks.
