A little over a week ago, Susan and I were going through the plans for Spring Break. Contrary to popular belief, University employees don’t get the week off even though the students do. Kayla was going to be away in Orlando with her band, but we needed to do something about Emma. Susan was going to take a couple of days off while Emma’s Grandmothers were going to switch off and take care of her a day each. I got the kids (all 3) on Friday, so I thought it would be a good day to go visit the San Antonio Zoo. The zoo lived up to its name. Besides the 4 of us, every child from San Antonio was there. Very, very crowded. Luckily, it was still a great time.
Even though Kayla has been to the zoo numerous times, this was a first for E & E. There’s a certain fuzzy feeling a parent gets when their kids express pure delight and enjoyment. The first time I took Kayla to the zoo when she was a little girl, I felt it. I felt it again today.
We might have to get season passes now.
