Wow, do I have some catching up to do or what? Yes, it’s been a few days (or over a week) since I last wrote something, but it’s (of course) not my fault!

Really.

The fates have conspired against me to remove my time and/or my energy to write anything of late. Here are a few things that are filling my days:

• The “EEK” (Emma/Erik/Kayla not necessarily in that order) - Kayla has been doing a great job with homework and grades lately, but Erik and Emma are still…shall we say…active? The younger daughter has had a few struggles with her young academic career. In kindergarten, you can get a different colored star for how well you behave with red being the worst to blue being the best. In between there’s orange, yellow and green. Emma has been getting a rainbow of star ratings lately. This week she received 2 orange stars, 2 green stars and a yellow star…not a good week. Last week she got a yellow star for sticking a straw up her nose because she thought it would be funny. That particular yellow star lost it’s meaning a bit when Susan laughed out loud about it. I thought it was funny too.
• Two softball teams - I’m on both the men’s team and co-ed team for work. We’re actually not that bad this year and it looks like we’ll make the playoffs for both.
• Home Owners Association - No, I’m not president of the homeowners association, but I do run their website and it has taken up some time lately. I’ll probably get to move them to a new hosting company next month. That’ll be work.
• Fascination with watches - I’ve been buying and selling watches lately. I have accumulated several decent watches over the past couple of years and now I’m trading up. I’ve sold a few on ebay already and have been improving the quality of my collection by buying nicer watches with the proceeds. I’ve made the mistake of finding several nice watch discussion boards on the web that have tempted educated me about some great timepieces.
• Obsessed on Disney - As you probably know, I love the Disney theme parks. I had the good fortune to go Walt Disney World a few times in my childhood and I’ve gone back a few times now that I’m “all grown up.” I’ve found that there’s a huge community of podcasters and bloggers that pass on great trivia and history about all the Disney parks. I’ve found a podcast that I’m absolutely hooked on. It’s only about an hour and a half per week but you would be surprised how hard it is to find that much uninterrupted time!

• High School Buddy and Future Newbery Medal winner Jenny Ford has tagged me again. This time I will share the blogs I like to read on a regular basis. The list will shock you! Not really.
• Another hoppy Easter happened last weekend. I have a few pictures.
• I think I’m going to change my facial hair soon. I am approaching 40 and the time is ripe for me to try to alter my appearance in attempt to appear younger and hipper. Maybe it’ll be the first min-mid-life crisis I’ll have.
• I’ll post some of my favorite websites that you might find useful and cool.
