Spring Cleaning in Summer and Susan’s Quilts

June 24th, 2007 by Mike · No Comments

The Fira 1 x 2Even though summer offically began a few days ago, it really doesn’t feel like it. June (for Texas) has been pretty hospitable and almost pleasant. Our spring went down in the record books as among the wettest in some time. Perhaps that’s the reason that we’re only now getting around to spring cleaning.

It started with Erik’s closet a couple of weeks ago. We took everything out and put in Rubbermaid shelving. We filled the closet up again, but we still have some of his stuff left over.

By the way, anyone who wants a baby crib, drop me a line. I’d rather not Craigslist it.

My closet also got a bit of an adjustment. I visited our nearby IKEA and took advantage of some of their clearance items. I got a wardrobe that fits nicely in my closet and holds all the miscellaneous junk I accumulate. Maybe they should call it “Spring Relocation” instead.

I tackled the pantry next. Everything in the pantry came out to the counter tops of our kitchen. I (again) used the powers of IKEA and put together a few small “Fira” storage containers to hold a few loose items. I also threw out a few…questionable looking items. It’s looking much better, but I still haven’t figured out how the baking stuff will work.

Susan is quilting again…still.

Here are two of them:

Erik got a brand new quilt as Susan and I have gradually claimed the blue jean quilt that she originally intended for him. I think she’s got quite a knack for this.

The host move that I mentioned several days ago hasn’t happened yet, but I’ve moved another one of my sites over and it all seems to be going OK. I also move our homeowners association website over to the same host, and it has gone pretty well, although it keeps me busy.

Kayla made it back from her cruise and I’m due to pick her up this Tuesday. I’m sure she’ll have some stories to tell.
