When I was a little kid, my friend Ray and I listened to LP records (remember those?) on his record player. One of my favorite songs was “Ring of Fire” by Johnny Cash. We’d jump up and down on the beds in Ray’s room and sing at the top of our lungs. Ah…glory days.

I’m not really a Country and Western fan, but I think Johnny Cash transcended the genre. I’ve always thought that he and Willie Nelson put so much feeling into their voices that you forget it’s Country.

It should come as no surprise that Erik is now loving Johnny Cash as well. His favorite song is “I Walk the Line” and he’s singing along.
