Well, here we are at Christmas Eve and I’m doing my first blog entry in a week.
What can I say? It’s been a busy week. I had hoped to take care a few things, but you know how it goes. As John Lennon once said: “Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.”
Luckily, we have been able to do a few things. We got Kayla on Wednesday. As usual, she’s been tremendous help with shopping and taking care of her younger siblings. Tonight’s our last shot with her till the new year. Of course, tonight’s the night that Santa is supposed to show up.
Yesterday, Emma was an angel in a traditional Christmas Pagent (I’m omitting the irony jokes). She got to sing and ham it up on stage for the delight of the audience.
Last night, the kids and I joined my parents and my sister’s family for the somewhat regular trek down to San Antonio to ride the boats on the Riverwalk. It was cold, but it was fun. It reminded me of earlier trips when Kayla was small.
Well, we’re off to wait for Santa.
I’ll post pictures and more news later.
If I don’t get a chance before the 25th is gone: Merry Christmas!
