Well, 2007 has come and lives its last night tonight. Susan and I conned persuaded grandparents into watching the children so we could go out with friends and eat dinner. In spite of this being Austin, we won’t get by with our usual blue jeans and t-shirts. We’ll actually have to dress up. Truth be told…we’re looking forward to it.
2007 was a great year equally for what didn’t happen as well as what happened. Yes, there were several good birthdays, and some nice holidays. Susan learned to sew quilts and I started helping out a few friends with getting websites of their own. There were no trips to the emergency room for Emma (even though Susan made a trip) and no hectic work events. All in all, a pretty good year.
I haven’t been able to post the pictures from our holidays just yet. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed having the time off to just “veg” and watch a few movies as well as talk to some friends via Skype. However, I’ve taken down the family computer server to do some more computer “trickle down” in our house. Susan’s present to me was parts for building a new computer. I’ve finally finished constructing it (I’m writing this post on it now), but I’m still trying to move all the software and files over to the new machine. Things like iTunes can be a bear to move over with all your precious playlists and ratings intact. The pictures might have to wait another day or two.
I’m sure I’ll write something tomorrow, but just in case I don’t: Happy New Year! Be careful out there!
