How Not To Be Popular

As previously reported on Guentzel.org, Jennifer Ziegler has been busily scribbling away on her latest work for some time.

She announced on her blog today, the book has just been released:

How NOT to Be Popular (Delacorte, 2008)

Jenny describes it like this:

Sometimes bad is good and good is bad-or so we think. How Not to Be Popular is about those times when the world seems turned inside out. When it hurts to care about someone, and be cared about. When you don’t want to be noticed or accepted. When a bad day puts a big smile on your face.

How Not to Be Popular is about the little ironies of life … the push-pull struggle of growing up.

She’s been getting some favorable reviews for the book too:

  • “Thoughtful and fun…Maggie and Jack’s relationship rings true, adding an irresistible sincerity to both characters that allows Maggie’s self-discovery and growth to unfold naturally.” — Kirkus Reviews
  • “Unapologetically honest and with a laugh or gasp on every page, How Not to Be Popular will make readers rethink what the word ‘popularity’ really means.” — Kate Brian, author of the Private series
  • “I loved this book. I was right next to Maggie the entire time, rooting for her as she tried to find herself and feeling her pain as she realized her mistakes.”
    – Chelsea Swiggett, Teens Read Too
  • “I laughed, I cried, it was better than Cats” — David Letterman [ED: Not really. Mr. Letterman could not be reached for comment.]

Kayla will be getting a copy for sure.

Congratulations Jenny!
