On Monday, my mom turns a certain milestone age. I’m not going to say what it is, but you might get a few clues from the pictures that I’ll be putting up. Instead of waiting until Monday, some of her friends and my sister conspired to give her a surprise party today.

It took some planning, but we were able to pull it off. I’m pretty sure she was surprised.

We were lucky enough to get some space at our favorite local TexMex restaurant (La Margarita) to spring the surprise. Once she arrived, we had appetizers and cake (with fire fighters) and a lot of dear friends. I gave a short roast and a friend from church did a skit as “Father Time”. It was a real hoot.

Kayla and I are going to run to the Jennifer Ziegler Book Release party tonight, so I’m keeping this post brief.

Kayla and I got back from Jenny’s Book Release party with a brand new (autographed) copy of her new book.  I’ll have more about that tomorrow (with pics).
