After numerous trips with the more-fuel-efficient-than-the-truck Miata, the old girl finally had a flat. This morning it appeared to be a slow leak, but this evening it just won’t hold any air. So, I pulled into the Sears in Hancock Center and have it queued up for some tires.
As luck would have it, it gave me the opportunity to dine at Freebird’s World Burrito (also in Hancock Center). In spite of it’s name, there is no Freebird’s in the Round Rock part of the world. Tonight’s meal (and Freebird’s delicious Wi-Fi) took a bit of the sting out of waiting for the car. Well…so far.
This gives me the opportunity for a quick update. Even though I’m on the computer every night, I’m usually (mentally) exhausted by the end of the day.
Let’s see….Kayla is the beneficiary of my version of “trickle down” technology in the house. It goes something like this: I got a new computer for Christmas; Susan gets my old computer (faster, beefier); Kayla gets Susan’s old computer (faster, beefier) and Emma will get Kayla’s old computer. The sisters will each have Ubuntu installed for their game-playing and music needs. Erik will get my old server (it’s serviceable) with Ubuntu as well.
Erik is apparently fascinated with water lately. He especially thought it interesting to spray water on the HD television…twice. The first time was Super Bowl Sunday. The second time was this past weekend. The television and my son are fine, but I don’t expect them to repeat this watery tango again (anytime soon).
Emma has lost another front tooth. I wish I had a picture to post because she looks like you’d expect a 6-year old girl to look.
I’ve been helping out some friends with their websites. I expect I’ll add another blog to my blogroll soon.
…still no call from Sears, but I probably should walk over there.
…just called as I was saving. Catch you later.
