I signed up for Facebook a long time ago (when I noticed a lot of the students at McCombs were using it). I had no idea that something so seemingly simple would balloon (nay, explode) into the 800 pound gorilla it is now.
For those that don’t know, Facebook is a social networking site that originally attracted members of a specific demographic (college kids), but now has attracted a wide variety of people. It allows users to communicate with each other and join networks affiliated to schools, businesses, location or just about anything. In the past 2 years, there has been a surge in “applications” that you can “install” on your Facebook page. I use the quotes because they’re not really what I would call a full fledged application, but I guess I’m an IT guy and I’m snooty that way.
At any rate, Susan recently picked up interest in Facebook and I’m now finding that a lot of long lost friends are on the site too.
If you’re on Facebook, look me up. If you’ve always wanted to sign up to see what it’s like, I’ll be your friend. ![]()
