I never really thought I would actually miss my home computer.
Oh sure, I would miss the convenience of checking my emails, my RSS feeds and playing a few various online games, but I could probably do without that for a week or two, right?
No…not even close. In addition to the above, I also have fallen behind on my various blogging and website maintenance duties (I take care of a few sites for friends and neighbors). All of the tools I used for this are backed up on a Windows Backup Image waiting for my new machine to be built.
The family went on our first camping trip this last weekend and I have a few pictures to share, but I don’t have a convenient way to get them on a machine and to the server where I keep the pictures. Arggghh! That will just have to come later.
I’ve taken the opportunity to get much more familiar with Ubuntu Hardy Heron (Linux distribution) and my laptop.
I’ve also expanded my Social Networking wings a bit and have updated profiles on Facebook, MySpace, Bebo, Mahalo, LinkedIn and others. I’ll be changing the left navigation to reflect some of the new ones.
