What about me? I’m just a computer guy that found out about this blogging thing in 2003. I’ve tried to give friends, family and other interested third parties a little bit of news about the Guentzel house.
Send me an email if you have any questions.
Here are some answers to a few Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. What’s the deal with the Derby and Umbrella?
A. The Derby and Umbrella (that appear in my header and in so many avatars I have online) come from a street sign (of sorts) in Milwaukee Wisconsin. The special significance is that it’s the first photo I’ve taken that I was truly proud of. I’ve taken several since, but this was the beauty that started it all. I took it with an Olympus C700 (with a 10x optical zoom). I’ll try to post some of the uncropped images here in the future.
Q. What do you write about?
A. Mostly the family and funny little things I remember. My intended audience? My friends and my family members that are scattered about. I’ve been toying with the idea of writing something for a bigger audience, but this is as far as this blog will go. After all, when you come to “Guentzel.org” you’re probably interested in someone named Guentzel.
Q. What about family history?
A. I’ve got some family history documents, but I haven’t done any real research in awhile. I mean to put these online, but I just haven’t gotten around to it. Keep watching!
Q. How often do you post?
A. I’ve tried to stick to *at least* once a week, but sometimes I get weary and/or distracted. I know it sounds silly, but it takes me some time to get a post together. It’s not because of the technology, it’s because I’m trying to phrase everything in the right way.
I’ve also got a job and a commute (and a love for the occasional online game) that eats up the time I don’t spend with the family.
